The projects have also been designed to allow your kids learn coding on their own, at their own pace, in their own time, in the comfort of their own home. Your kids can easily reach out to their live, Personal Tech Coaches through our learning platform BSD Online’s Chat feature. The platform allows Tech Coaches to check what your kids are working on, identify where they need help and immediately provide guidance and support – all while including you (parents) in the communication. This way, you are informed and involved in your kids progress and development.

CodeBytes is suitable for kids who can read English instructions and know the basics of using a keyboard to type and a mouse to click, drag and drop digital objects.
We recommend kids aged 10+ to join, but we also know many kids younger than 10 who have these skills. if your kid is one of them, just let us know on the subscription form!
CodeBytes’ projects are all on BSD Education’s learning platform BSD Online, which is scaffolded to support the best learning experiences for kids. Each project:
- is broken down step-by-step with instructions that are easy to follow

CodeBytes’ projects are categorized into progressive Levels from 1-6.
Although kids can choose to work on any level and project, we recommend starting with Level 1 and following the progression to 2-6 for an effective learning experience.

Not at all! In fact, your kids would be reaching the next milestone of their coding learning journey and moving on to text-based coding! Text-based coding is what real-world programmers use to create websites, apps, games and more – and CodeBytes’ projects will teach your kids exactly that!
Scratch is a block-based coding program that helps kids who are just starting off to understand the basics of coding syntax (grammar) and computational thinking. Learning text-based coding gets kids to take their computational thinking to the next level and get started on real-world coding that will prepare them to create and innovate for the jobs of tomorrow.
Once your subscription starts, your kids will have unlimited access to over 30 tech projects that will teach them to build a range of digital products from multipage websites and responsive apps, to fun 2D games and responsive digital assistants. If your subscription ends, your kids will still be able to access their past work and sandboxes (customized projects) but won’t have access to the guided projects or new releases.
