Formative assessment is an essential part of the learning process, allowing teachers to assess students understanding of concepts and learning needs. Here are a few of our favorite tech tools such as Quizizz and Kahoot that can help make assessments fun for students and easy for teachers!
Personalized learning is all about tailoring the learning experience to the needs of students, allowing them to gain more out of education by focusing on things that interest them and using learning styles that best suit their needs. Code offers a unique opportunity to allow for structured and yet personalized learning. Ultimately, the way you learn to code is by completing projects.
I’d like to take you behind the scenes of the BSD software development team. Our team is actually a multicultural and international group of developers, data scientists and designers from Thailand, Scotland, England, France, the US and Myanmar!
We know with technology, especially computer science or coding, that students can often be put off by some commonly held misconceptions. We have put a few points together below that can help you demystify or debunk these, and drive more participation in your school’s technology programme.
The Education Team at BSD understands how precious your time is as a teacher… To help you stay ahead, we have scoured the internet for the most insightful and interesting edtech content (blogs, articles, and podcasts) to help you stay afloat in the rapid changes and tides (driven by tech) in education.

One of the best possible ways for a young person to fit into a working environment, which is new and often alien to them, is not to seek an immediate result, but to allow relationships to develop over time. Weekly work experience over a period of time will allow credibility and trust to build between the student and the company as weekly tasks are consistently accomplished, communication is learned and the individual is simply proven reliable and convivial.
Benefits include understanding of the multitude of different ways to communicate we now use in the present day, the importance of the phone as part of authenticity of real world context in learning, as well as the flexibility of learning available to students where they can use their phone to progress at their own pace. By building something real that can be shared with the outside world, students learn new skills and see the impact those skills can have. This increases engagement, inspires creativity and develops student ownership.
As the world of tech is rapidly evolving, it can be difficult to keep up with all the changes, and come up with teaching ideas that use the most up to date and relevant technology. Here are way to expand your EdTech Community!
“To promote STEM, we believe educators, schools and teachers should consider making math or science-related subjects more relevant to students’ real life.” Making subject learning real world takes away the need for rote memorisation, this is something students have expressed their frustrations over.
