In this post we will share how we work with schools globally to integrate Technology Education in their existing curricula in a simple, 3 step process. Once a school has decided to partner with us, they can be ready to start teaching with BSD curriculum in less than a week!
The MIT Challenges are a unique opportunity aimed to give a taste of MIT to every school, teacher, and student in the Nord Anglia Education family. Each MIT Challenge embodies the teaching and learning culture of MIT, is rooted in the research of MIT faculty, and makes that research relevant and accessible to Nord Anglia students.
Bringing technology learning into your subject will make your classes more inspiring and engaging, whilst also giving your students the skills and competencies they need to succeed in their futures. It can enable a more interactive learning environment and helps make the learning more authentic.
As educators, we want to bring the most relevant and engaging learning experience to our students to ensure they are prepared for the future. One effective way to do this is to bring on “meaningful technology activities” into the classroom, but what does this mean? Where do you start?
In the process of programming a Micro:bit and building tools with it, students develop skills like Design Thinking, prototyping, coding, experience working with materials and electronics, using hardware and collaboration. Let’s take a look at the skills students learn:
The technology tools on offer today impact not just the fabric of the school, such as learning management systems, but also the hands on learning of students, such as online learning platforms. All of these platforms produce data and it is in the amalgamation of all of this data that the benefits will be found, rather than in a single tool in isolation.

We have prepared a fun activity (approximate duration: ~ 60 minutes) with resources and video tutorials so that you can do the same with your students just in time for the holiday season. We recommend this activity for ages 8 and above.
Coding is more than just a technical skill. Students engaged in coding projects and activities will also develop a wide range of soft skills. In fact, when we talk to employers, we find that digital skills are the key to open the door, but the most important part of turning the opportunity into reality is being able to demonstrate the soft skills that go with them.
Roblox provides scripting tips and design elements through Roblox Studio – a free game creation platform that helps budding designers create and contribute games and activities. Through the platform and its features, students develop skills like creativity, self direction, storytelling, coding, giving and taking feedback.
The Hour of Code is a great opportunity to bring coding into your classroom and to introduce your students to some vital digital skills. We believe that regular exposure to technology in a range of different contexts is the best way to prepare students for using technology in their futures and to understand how to apply it in connection with their interests.
Formative assessment is an essential part of the learning process, allowing teachers to assess students understanding of concepts and learning needs. Here are a few of our favorite tech tools such as Quizizz and Kahoot that can help make assessments fun for students and easy for teachers!
